Youth charged over fire at Limerick school

A 17-year-old youth appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this morning charged with trespass and causing criminal damage.

He was later released on bail with certain conditions imposed.

A 19-year-old man is also being questioned at Roxboro Garda Station in connection with a fire at a special needs school in Dooradoyle in the city.

A new therapy clinic, attached to St. Gabriel's school for children with learning difficulties, was destroyed in the fire last night.

The outbreak was reported at about 8.30pm.

The new €3 million wing of the therapy centre was due to open in July.
