Cardinal Desmond Connell has offered to meet two survivors of clerical child abuse.
The offer comes hours after they announced they were organising a silent walk calling for his resignation over his handling of offending priests.
This evening the Cardinal's office issued invitations to Ken Reilly, a victim of de-frocked priest Tony Walsh and Marie Collins, a victim of Fr Paul McGennis, ahead of their planned protest walk from the Pro-Cathedral to Archbishop's House next Sunday week.
The meeting is to take place next Monday morning.
Ken Reilly has said that Dr Connell should resign because he has not made any substantial statement since October's Prime Time investigation of his diocese.
Mr Reilly has said that he wants to see what actions the Cardinal is prepared to take to deal with clerical sexual abuse.
Mr Reilly said all Church files relating to child sexual abuse must be shown to appropriate Garda authorities, a matter on which the Cardinal's Auxiliary Bishop, Eamon Walsh, was not prepared to give an undertaking on the Today with Pat Kenny show on RTE Radio 1 this morning.
