Youth arrested after Spanish school siege

In Spain, police have arrested a 16-year-old youth who held 25 children and their teacher hostage at a school near Barcelona.

The youth, who was armed with a knife, had demanded €1 million to release the children he had taken hostage.

A short time later, after negotiations between him and the police, he released 16 children unharmed. An hour and a half later, police seized the youth, and the remaining children were released. No one was injured.

Police say the teenager is a former pupil at the school who had failed his exams.
