Leaders of member states of the Asian and Pacific economic organisation, APEC, have signalled their commitment to the fight against international terrorism as a means of achieving economic prosperity.
Proposals adopted at an APEC summit in Mexico include closer scrutiny of luggage and passengers on international flights.
The leaders also agreed to increase controls on cargo containers in ports and on energy installations.
