A Limerick city councillor has appeared at the city's district court on three further charges arising from an investigation into his business activities by the Criminal Assets Bureau.
Alderman Michael Kelly with an address in Ballyneety County Limerick, who represents the people of the Southill area, faced three charges under the Tax Consolidation Act relating to alleged VAT offences.
The court was told he said "I'm innocent" when charged.
Last Thursday evening 47-year-old Mr Kelly appeared at the court on five charges. Four related to alleged VAT offences and another was an income tax offence.
He was remanded on continuing bail until 14 November next.
