A security guard has gone on a shooting rampage in Italy, killing seven people before committing suicide.
The man, who has been named by police as Mauro Antonello, shot his estranged wife, her mother, brother and sister-in-law as well as three neighbours in a five minute shooting spree in which he fired at least 40 shots.
The couple's seven-year-old daughter narrowly escaped the carnage, having just taken a bus to school.
The shootings happened at a house in the town of Chieri, near the north western city of Turin.
Police said it was believed the neighbours were killed after they tried to intervene in a family dispute.
The incident was the second case of domestic killing in Italy in two days.
On Monday a former police officer shot his wife and 17-year-old daughter and seriously wounded her boyfriend, before shooting himself in the city of Reggio Emilia.
Police said the man filmed the shootings.
