A property developer has won an eleventh-hour court injunction preventing Dublin City Council removing an anti-Nice banner from his premises on the Quays in Dublin.
Two weeks ago Mr Wallace erected the large banner on a steel frame at his premises at Ormond Quay.
Shortly after the banner appeared, he received a letter from the Council, threatening him with court action if it was not removed.
Last Friday evening, Mr Wallace and his solicitor received further correspondence from the Council informing him that if he did not remove the banner by midday today, the Council would enter the property and remove it.
Mr Wallace claims that because of the upcoming Nice Referendum, the banner is an exempted advertisement and it did not endanger the facade at Ormond Quay.
Mr Wallace says he intends removing it on Saturday - the day of the Nice vote.
