Cambridgeshire police searching for two missing 10-year-old girls in Britain have made an urgent appeal for help from four people seen on closed-circuit television footage that showed the youngsters minutes before they vanished.
Grainy footage shows two men and two women getting into parked cars near a sports centre, minutes after the girls, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, passed by on Sunday evening.
Police released the footage in the hope that the potential witnesses might provide a breakthrough.
Detective Superintendent David Hankins told a news conference that they would like to identify the four as they may hold vital information.
Police are hoping that the four will be able to help them identify where the two girls were heading and how they appeared.
A police spokesperson said that it may be one of the last positive sightings they have of the two girls.
The two men and two women who got into the cars may have been wearing tennis or squash gear.
Police also want to speak to a motor cyclist who was seen at the car park and said that a white van had been seen there, either loading or unloading.
Detectives are working on the theory that the two girls have been abducted, although another senior policeman has also said that there is still a chance that the children are sleeping rough or hiding.
More than 250 officers are now involved in the hunt for the girls, conducting searches in countryside surrounding Soham.
Meanwhile, the owners of five British newspapers are today offering rewards for information about the mystery.
The Sun and The News of the World are putting up a joint reward of £150,000 for anyone who solves the mystery of the disappearance.
Express Newspapers, owners of the Daily Express, Sunday Express and the Daily Star, is offering a £1 million reward to anyone who gives information that leads to the return of the girls or the arrest of anyone involved in their disappearance.
