British police investigating the disappearance of 10-year-old schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman are reported to have seized a white van.
Detective Superintendent David Hankins said the van was seen cruising the area on the night the youngsters from Soham, Cambridgeshire, went missing.
The development came as police said it was increasingly likely that the girls had been abducted.
The mother of one of two missing 10-year-old girls, 35-year-old Nicola Wells has made another plea for the youngsters to return home.
The girls, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, have been missing from their homes in Soham, Cambridgeshire, since Sunday evening.
The youngsters, who were wearing Manchester United shirts, were believed to have been spotted on Monday.
However, the detective leading the investigation said the sighting may not have been of the missing girls.
