Britain rejects boys' asylum bid

Britain has rejected asylum applications from two Afghan brothers who had walked into the British consulate in Melbourne, Australia.

The boys, aged 12 and 13, were escorted from the British-Consulate General and brought to a detention centre in Melbourne.

The brothers escaped in June from the Woomera detention centre. Thousands of people from Afghanistan and the Middle East have sought asylum in Australia in recent years.
