Woman found murdered in Dublin yesterday is named

The dead woman who was discovered yesterday afternoon in a derelict house in Ballsbridge in Dublin, has been named as Niamh Murphy, a 17-year-old from Salthill in Galway. The family of the dead woman travelled to Dublin this morning to identify the body.

The Deputy State Pathologist, Marie Cassidy, carried out a post mortem examination this morning. Ms Murphy's throat is believed to have been cut. The murder inquiry is being co-ordinated from Donnybrook Garda Station.
