ITN ordered to identify soldiers

Britain's ITN has been ordered by the Bloody Sunday Inquiry to identify soldiers who anonymously gave interviews in 1997 to Channel 4 News about the event. Inquiry chairman Lord Saville said it was vital the enquiry had the opportunity to question the four soldiers.

He said Channel 4 News presenter, Alex Thomson, and his former producer, Lena Ferguson, who now works for the BBC in Belfast, would be held in contempt if they failed to do as ordered. A fifth soldier who was also interviewed has revealed his identity to the inquiry.
