Court sets date for Redmond trial

The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court has fixed 4 June as the date for the trial of George Redmond. The former Assistant Dublin City and County Manager is charged with corruption while in office.

The trial is expected to last three weeks. Mr Redmond, who is 76, faces four charges. The offences allegedly occurred while he worked for Dublin County Council in the 1980s. Mr Redmond was in court this morning and was remanded on continuing bail.
