A 45-year-old County Mayo man has been found guilty of the manslaughter of his partner at their home in Dublin in 1999.
The jury at the Central Criminal Court found Anthony McIntyre not guilty of murder, but guilty of the manslaughter of 40-year-old Michael Waters at the flat they shared in Phibsboro.
The court heard that McIntyre, from Ballycroy in County Mayo, stabbed Mr Waters in a fit of temper after they had had a row. Prosecuting lawyers told the court that McIntyre had recently tried to take his own life.
