A car bomb explosion in Beirut has killed four people, including former Lebanese Minister, Elie Hobeika. He was leader of the Lebanese Forces militia.
The militia was linked to the 1982 massacres in Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. The killing coincides with attempts in Belgium by a group of Palestinians to indict Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, for crimes against humanity in connection with the same massacres.
A Belgian appeals court heard final arguments from lawyers representing Mr Sharon yesterday. It will issue a ruling on the case in March.
