Palestinian police have allegedly arrested Ahmed Saadat, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Saadat is wanted by Israel for the assassination of an Israeli cabinet minister last October.
Neither the Palestinian Authority nor Israel have confirmed the detention of Saadat, but reports say he was arrested in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
Israel had said it was seeking the arrest of Saadat and other PFLP militants who it claims are responsible for the murder of Tourism Minister, Rehavam Zeevi.
