The High Court has adjourned an application by Patrick 'Dutchy' Holland to have a prison authority decision quashed. The authority told Holland last November that they were refusing him the right to communicate with the media.
Holland was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in 1997 for possession of drugs with intent to supply. The sentence was later reduced to 12 years. Holland is seeking an order to quash this decision and wants a declaration that he is entitled to know the reasons for the decision.
There was big security presence at the Four Courts as Holland arrived for the brief hearing. The case was adjourned until February 4.
