In Australia, firefighters in New South Wales are continuing to try to control bush fires in the eastern state. Fires are now closing in on Sydney, reaching the suburb of Pennant Hills this morning.
The blaze is now just nine miles from the city's famous Harbour Bridge. Two hundred homes are under threat and hundreds of residents have been evacuated.
Australia's biggest city has been ringed by fire to the north, south and west since Christmas Day.
The city has been enveloped in a plume of smoke since then. It is believed that the fire was started deliberately.
