A United States company has said that it had cloned the first ever human embryo. Advanced Cells Technology insists the experiment is aimed at producing stem cells for research in disease treatment and not creating a human being.
Stem cells are master cells that can grow into any kind of cell in the body. A spokesman for the online journal which published the results described the experiment as a milestone in therapeutic cloning.
