The SDLP has again criticised Sinn Féin for rejecting British government policing proposals. The North's Minister of Agriculture told RTÉ that it was vital that the Nationalist community could have confidence in any new police service and that they should not have to fear punishment attacks within their own community.
Bríd Rodgers said that the SDLP would not be found wanting in its support for the policing proposals if the party decided that a fair and just police service could be established on the basis of the proposals.
