Computer users warned of Kournikova virus

Irish computer users have been warned of a computer virus which is attacking computer systems around the world. The virus claims to offer pictures of Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova. When opened, instead of displaying pictures of the player the virus forwards itself to everybody in a computer's address book. Experts say that the new virus is spreading at twice the rate of Love Bug, which paralysed the e-mail servers of more than 100 million users last year. According to computer security experts, the virus does not damage individual computers but replicates itself through the Microsoft's Outlook e-mail program, creating a potential to crash e-mail servers. The virus has so far been found in Australia, Japan, the US and Europe.
