Bomb explosions in the Philippines kill at least fourteen

At least fourteen people have been killed and almost a hundred injured in a series of bomb explosions in the Philippine capital, Manila. Four bombs exploded almost simultaneously, the worst of them killing nine people and injuring 30 others on a suburban train. A fifth device went off about two hours later, killing a policeman. A government spokesman said that the authorities were considering the possibility that the attacks were carried out by a Muslim separatist group based in the south of the country.
