Dublin man charged with murder of Patrick Logan

A 26-year-old Dublin man has appeared before Tullamore District Court charged with the murder of Patrick Logan. The 81-year-old bachelor died after both he and his 83-year-old brother, Peter, were attacked in their home near Castlejordan, County Westmeath, last June. This morning Christopher Doyle, a father of five from St Finian’s Grove in Lucan, was charged with the murder of Patrick Logan. He is already facing two other charges in connection with the same attack.

The elderly brothers were listening to a GAA match on the radio on a Sunday afternoon at the time of the attack. Peter was seriously injured, while Patrick collapsed and died of a heart attack.
