The body of a man has been found at a house in the Lower Shankill area of Belfast. The man's body was discovered by neighbours at his home at Florence Court in the Lower Shankill area around 9.00pm last night. A post mortem examination was held early this morning but did not establish the cause of death. The RUC say that their inquiries are continuing.
The man was reported to have had Loyalist paramilitary links but at this stage police are keeping an open mind and it is too early to say if the incident was connected with the feud between the UDA and UVF in the Shankill Road area. Three men have died and around 200 families have had to leave their homes since July.
The chairman of the Ulster Democratic party, John White, which has links to the UDA and UFF said when people had gone into the man's house they found it had been damaged. But he hoped the death was not connected to the feud and appealed to people to remain calm until the police had thoroughly investigated the circumstances.
