An inquest into the death of John Carthy, the Abbeylara man who was shot by Gardaí after a siege at his home in April of this year, will open tomorrow morning in Longford. It is expected that Gardaí and members of the emergency response unit will be among the witnesses to give evidence. Legal representatives of the Carthy family will also question members of the Gardaí for the first time on the circumstances surrounding John Carthy's death.
