Four appear in court in connection with shooting of 11-ye

Four men have been brought before Ballymena Magistrates Court in connection with the shooting and wounding of an 11-year-old girl in Coleraine in Derry on Monday night. Three of the four are from Coleraine. They are Samuel Bolton from Hazeldene Drive, Thomas Dunbar from Ballycallin Park, Philip McKergan from Daneshill Road in Coleraine, and John Hazlett from Alexander Road in Limavady. All four were remanded in custody.

Charlene Daly was shot in the back during an attack on her home which arose out of the feud between Loyalist gangs. She was discharged from hospital last night. The bullet remains lodged in her left shoulder blade. Doctors said they would continue to monitor her condition but would only operate on her if necessary.
