Dutch authorities say they have arrested seven people in connection with the deaths of 58 Chinese immigrants being smuggled into the English port of Dover nine days ago. The immigrants were found suffocated inside a Dutch lorry which arrived at Dover by ferry from the Belgian port of Zeebrugge. Two people survived the journey. The authorities said they had also identified a Rotterdam warehouse linked to the smuggling operation. The Dutch driver of the lorry has been charged in a British court with the manslaughter of the 58 immigrants, and has been remanded in custody.
