Gardaí in Dublin have arrested three men in connection with the stabbing of a 46-year-old man in the city early this morning. The Englishman received stab wounds to his chest and back and remains in a critical condition in hospital. The incident took place near the IDA building in Pearse Street around 1.20am. It is understood that the man's wife and son were with him at the time. Gardaí say that a group of youths exchanged words with them. The man was then followed and stabbed. Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information to contact them. Gardaí say that a dark coloured Hiace van may have stopped at the scene and then moved on. There have been some reports that a taxi also was passing the scene at the time.
