An 80-year-old man has died and another sustained facial injuries in what appears to have been an attack at their home, outside Castlejordan in Co Offaly. Gardaí say two youths were seen approaching the farm house just before four o'clock this afternoon. The dead man has been named as Paddy Logan, who died at the scene.
His 82-year-old brother, Peter Logan, was taken to Tullamore General Hospital. His condition is not yet known. A Garda forensic team and the State Pathologist are on their way to the scene.
