Gardaí never suspected Tom Nevin of involvement with the

In the Catherine Nevin trial, a number of gardaí said that they never found any cars parked at Jack White's Inn listed to any member of the IRA and never saw any evidence that the IRA held meetings at the premises. Gardaí from both Wicklow and Arklow Garda Stations carried out regular patrols in the area around Jack White's Inn. Some also gave evidence that there was never the slightest suspicion that Tom Nevin had any involvement with the IRA or any other subversive organisation.

A number of gardaí have claimed that the car belonging to the former Garda Inspector Tom Kennedy was regularly parked at rear of the car park at Jack White's Inn both late at night and early in the morning. Both Mrs Nevin and Tom Kennedy denied in evidence that they were having an affair

The prosecution has called a number of witnesses to rebut evidence given during the defence case. A closing speech by the prosecution is expected to begin tomorrow. Mrs Nevin denies murdering her husband in March 1996 at Jack White's Inn and soliciting three men to do so in 1989 and 1990.
