Dobson called to stand down as Labour candidate

The British Labour party's newly elected candidate for London Mayor, Frank Dobson, has been called upon by the unsuccessful candidate Ken Livingstone to stand down. Mr Dobson, a former Cabinet Minister, narrowly beat Mr Livingstone, after third candidate Glenda Jackson was eliminated following the first ballot. Mr Livingstone, the former Greater London Council Leader, claimed 8% of the poll had been stolen from him through what he said was an unfair ballot system. Mr Dobson said that he would beat Mr Livingstone if he decides to run as an independent candidate for Mayor of London and he denied the voting system was a fix.
