Minister accused of turning blind eye to driving instruct

Fine Gael's Youth Affairs spokesperson has accused the Minister for the Environment of turning a blind eye to the regulation of driving instructors. In a statement, Denis Naughton claimed that many driving instructors, who have not passed a driving test themselves, are allowed to pass their bad technique on to young drivers and said that this was increasing driving test waiting lists. Deputy Naughton said that we live in a society, which stipulates that an auctioneer must have a college diploma to sell a house, yet any individual can establish a driving school.
