The former licensee of Jack White's pub in County Wicklow, Catherine Nevin, has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of her husband, Tom. Mrs Nevin, who is 48, was charged with the murder of her husband at Jack White's Inn, near Brittas Bay, on the 19th of March 1996.
The trial of the former publican has been delayed while her legal team makes preliminary applications in the jury's absence. A jury of seven men and five women were sworn in to hear the case but following preliminary applications by her counsel Patrick McEntee, Miss Justice Melia Carroll sent the jury home until tomorrow morning. Earlier, the jury was told that the trial would last at least four weeks.
