Poyntzpass trial due to begin today

The trial is due to begin at Belfast Crown Court later today of two men accused of the murder of two lifelong friends, one a Protestant, the other a Catholic, in Poyntzpass in County Armagh last year. Phillip Allen and Damien Traynor were shot by Loyalist gunmen in a Catholic bar in the town. Mr Traynor was due to have been Mr Allen's best man at his wedding. The two accused deny the charges. Another man has admitted the two murders, and is also charged with trying to kill two other people injured in the attack.
