John Gilligan, the 47-year-old Dublin man wanted for the murder of Veronica Guerin, will have his appeal against extradition back to Ireland heard in the House of Lords in October. At Woolwich Crown Court, he was again remanded in custody to Belmarsh maximum security prison. The prosecution told the court that it did not believe he would attend the hearing if he were granted bail.
