Gardaí in Ennis have confirmed they are looking for a fire extinguisher that may have been used in the fatal attack on a Belgian man who died after an incident at a tourist hotel in the town this morning. The victim, who was in his early forties, died of head injuries. Garda divers are searching a section of River Fergus adjacent to the hostel, where the victim had been staying for some time. A local man in his twenties is being held for questioning at Ennis Garda station. He was described as the most significant witness to the killing, which took place in a tourist hostel in the town.
