Brian Meehan has applied to the Special Criminal Court to have his murder trial stopped. Meehan, who is 34 and has an address at Kimmage in Dublin, denies murdering Veronica Guerin. His counsel, John McCrudden QC, said the Court should not risk proceeding with the trial based on the evidence of the protected witnesses.
