Commission to review searches for IRA victims' bodies

The Commission for the Location of the bodies of IRA victims will be meeting over the next few days to review the searches at four locations named by the IRA as burial sites. A decision may be made on the future of on-going excavation work in counties Louth, Monaghan and Meath after the commission have consulted with Gardaí.

The IRA informed the commission late last month that the graves of eight victims would be found at these locations. Gardaí halted excavations at sites in County Meath and County Wicklow last Friday after extensive searches had uncovered no signs of any remains.
