A feud between rival loyalist factions has been blamed for a gun attack on a Glasgow Rangers supporters' bar in Belfast last night. Two men standing outside the club in Sandy Row escaped unhurt when a gunman fired several shots from a passing car at around 8.00pm. The men ran off and the gunman got out of the vehicle and fired after them.
Two cars were later found abandoned, one nearby and another on the Shankill road. The shooting is thought to be linked to tensions between the Ulster Defence Association and the Ulster Volunteer Force in west and south Belfast.
