The American House of Representatives has passed a resolution urging the British government to hold an independent inquiry into last month's murder of Lurgan solicitor, Rosemary Nelson. The resolution also calls for an inquiry into the 1989 loyalist killing of the Belfast lawyer, Pat Finucane.
In an advert in today's Irish Times, the Rosemary Nelson Campaign has called on the Taoiseach to press for the circumstances surrounding the killing to be the subject of an independent international inquiry. Ellen Weaver of the campaign says that such a statement from Bertie Ahern is urgently needed.
