Results of Sheedy inquiry to be made public

The Chief Justice, Mr Justice Liam Hamilton, has made a commitment that the results of his inquiries into the Philip Sheedy affair will be made public. Speaking at a Law Society dinner in Dublin last night, the judge said his report to the Attorney General would carry a condition that it be published in full and without delay.

A Supreme Court judge and a Circuit Court judge have been linked to the affair, in which a Dublin architect, Philip Sheedy, won the suspension of three years of his four-year sentence for causing death by dangerous driving.
