BBC obtains video-tape of alleged Kosovo massacre afterma

The BBC has obtained a video-tape of what is allegedly the aftermath of a Serb massacre of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo. The tape is said to have been recorded at the village of Krusa, near the town of Pec on the Kosovo-Albania border last month.

The amateur scenes were shot by villager Milaim Bellanica before he fled his home village where Serb units apparently killed around 100 men on the night of 25 March. Mr. Bellanica risked his life to smuggle the video past Serb soldiers to the safety of Albania.

He has provided a list of the names of 26 of the victims. The film, which the BBC said was too gruesome to be broadcast in its entirety, showed a number of bodies of men lying dead in buildings and fields.

A spokesman for the British Prime Minister said that the footage confirmed the consistent verbal reports of the refugees who have poured out of Kosovo in the past 10 days since the start of the NATO bombing campaign.
