Ingredients

For the Banana Bread:

  • Banana 250g
  • Sugar 300g
  • Salt 2g
  • 3 eggs
  • Baking soda 13g
  • Milk 190g
  • Flour 300g
  • Vegetable oil 150g

For the Salted Caramel Sauce:

  • 250ml cream
  • 170 caster sugar
  • 80g glucose
  • 400g butter
  • 250g dark brown sugar
  • 5g salt

Method

Banana Bread:

  1. Preheat Oven to 170 degrees.
  2. Crush together banana and sugar and mix well.
  3. Add in salt, flour and baking soda.
  4. Add milk and eggs.
  5. Add the oil at the end.
  6. Pour mix into greased tin and bake for 45 mins, or until the knife comes clean.

Salted Caramel Sauce:

  1. Heat up a saucepan. Turn heat to medium heat.
  2. Slowly add sugar and salt bit by bit to melt.
  3. Once all sugar is melted, add warm cream, and whisk.
  4. Add cold, cubed butter and whisk to bring to a smooth sauce.
  5. Pass through a sieve in case some large pieces of sugar are at the bottom of the pan.
