Ingredients
- 400g strong flour
- 40g sugar
- 5g salt
- 100ml milk
- 1 packet fast action yeast
- 4 medium eggs
- 100g butter (soft to touch)
Method
- Place the flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a mixer and mix to distribute
- Warm the milk to just above hand temperature and add to the dough.
- Add the eggs one by one and mix on medium speed for 3mins, then add your soft butter. Mix for a further 10 mins until the dough is shiny and glossy. Place in a greased bowl and leave to double in size
- Knock back the dough on a floured surface then shape and portion into 3 equally sized balls
- Brush a baking tin with softened butter.
- Roll the balls on the workbench to tighten the dough then place in the loaf tin. Cover and allow to double in size.
- Once doubled, brush with egg yolk and bake at 185c for 20 mins until golden brown.
