Ingredients

Serves: 4

For the tomato sauce:

  • EVO 2 tablespoon
  • Onion 1 chopped
  • Peeled tomatoes 1kg
  • Basil leaves 20gr
  • Salt

For the meatball:

  • Beef mincemeat 1kg
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Parsley 20gr
  • Grated parmesan 150gr
  • White bread 3 slices
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Egg 1full
  • Salt & pepper

Method

For tomato sauce

  1. Put the EVO and the chopped onion in a pot, saute the onion and then pour the peeled tomatoes (previously blended) into the pot
  2. Add salt and basil and bring to the boil
  3. Then put the tomato sauce into an oven tray and add the meatball

For the meatball

  1. Put the milk into a bowl add the bread and let it soften.
  2. In another bowl put the mincemeat, the salt, the pepper, the garlic squeezed, the chopped parsley, the grated parmesan and the bread(previously drained).
  3. Mix all together with your hands until you reach an homogeneous consistency.
  4. Make your meatball and put them into the sauce in the oven tray.
  5. Put in the oven at 180 for 1 hour.
