A classic dinner from Operation Transformation: Steak and Baked Potato.


Serves: 2

  • 400g rooster potatoes (2 medium) 
  •  250g sirloin steak, sliced into strips 
  •  1 bunch spring onions, chopped  
  •  1 red pepper, deseeded and chopped 
  •  10 mushrooms, sliced 
  •  4 tablespoons sweetcorn 

Food Staples:

  • 4 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoon reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil 
  • 1 tablespoon ginger 


  1. Preheat oven to 220C /200C Fan / gas mark 7 
  2.  Place 2 medium potatoes on a baking tray - pierce with fork and bake for 45 minutes until cooked through 
  3.  To make the marinade combine the oyster sauce, soy sauce and honey in a bowl 
  4.  Add the steak strips to the bowl and coat with the marinade
  5.  Add the rapeseed oil to a pan over medium heat and add the spring onions, chopped pepper, mushrooms, sweetcorn and ginger and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes 
  6.  Add the beef strips and cook until meat is cooked through for a further 5-7 minutes 
  7.  Take baking tray with potatoes out of oven and serve alongside the beef and vegetable mix
