Molly Makes Granny's Lemon Drizzle Cake!

Ingredients

  • 170 g self-raising flour
  • 170 g sugar
  • 170g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • Zest & juice from 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of icing sugar

Method

  1. Beat the butter and the sugar until creamy
  2. Add the zest and milk, and beat again
  3. Add in half the flour and one egg. Beat
  4. Add in remaining flour and egg. Beat
  5. Put baking paper in the cake tin and pour the mixture in.
  6. Put it in the oven at 180 degrees for an hour.
  7. For the syrup mix the juice of one lemon and 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
  8. Make small holes in the cake and pour the syrup on top.
  9. Serve.
