Red Bull athlete Conor Maguire caught some impressive waves off Mullaghmore Head yesterday morning, as part of a very large swell off the West coast.
Hailing from Bundoran County Sligo, Conor has been surfing the waves of Mullaghmore since the tender age of 11.

A seasoned 'Big Wave' surfer, the 29-year-old made headlines in 2020 when he surfed what is believed to be the biggest wave to ever hit the West-Coast of Ireland.
Reaching 60 foot, the jaw-dropping wave earned him nominations for 'Biggest Tow', 'Ride of the Year' and Performer of the Year. Watch it back here.
Speaking about his passion for the "addictive" sport in 2023, Maguire told RTÉ Lifestyle that, despite the cold weather and need for wetsuits, Ireland is among the best surfing spots in the world and should be enjoyed by locals whenever possible.

"Surfing in Ireland is a whole experience," he explained. "It's really nice to try and push yourself to get out there even when the weather is not great, it's really rewarding at the end of it when you take your wetsuit off, you feel great."
"People come from all over Hawaii and Australia to come here and spend time in Ireland and brave the elements just to hopefully get these waves once or twice a winter," he added. "That kind of puts it up there with the best places in the world."
