ExWell Medical is an established chronic illness rehabilitation programme that has recently launched its home-based programme. Each week on RTÉ LifeStyle, the team are sharing a series of workouts that can be done at home - no gym equipment necessary.
In this week's video, Lauri will be showing you some step aerobics exercises that you can do from home. Just make sure you find yourself a sturdy and secure step - this can be your stairs or a step into your house or even a curb.
Step aerobics is a great way to boost your cardiovascular fitness as well as your lower body strength. The ability to climb stairs is an important element in daily living.
Make sure to take the session at your own pace, hold onto the banister or wall for support and most importantly follow the safety guidelines in the video which include having your full foot on the step.
