Coronavirus: How to clean your smartphone

Singing 'Happy Birthday' to yourself when washing your hands might be part of your daily routine now, but many of us neglect to clean the one device we're often glued to during the day: our phones.

Following on from his self-isolation series and his guide to work from home (the right way), Go Outside and Play host Carl Mullan is showing us how to clean our phones thoroughly during the coronavirus outbreak.

Before you do anything, check out the guidelines given by your phone's manufacturer. Many smartphone companies have cleaning guidelines, with Apple suggesting 70% isoprophyl alcohol wipes to safely and gently clean your phone.

If you're good to go with our at-home method, pick up a microfibre cloth – the kind that comes with glasses – some soap, and some water. Watch the video above to see the method.
